Accounts Receivable Manager Distinguished Programs LLC is a growing, entrepreneurial national insurance program manager who provides specialty insurance programs to brokers and agents. This successful candidate will report to the Accounting Manager and will work with the Controller and CFO in his or her duties. Roles & Responsibilities: This position will oversee and be responsible for the operational aspects of the accounts receivable function and will report in to the Accounting Manager. Key functions will include: Supervision and oversight of accounts receivable, cash applications, accounting customer service and assisting with the processing of the insurance bordereaux (reporting and filing with re-insurance carriers). Experience in the insurance and or reinsurance area will be of great value. Other responsibilities will include reconciliations, account analysis and cash applications. The role has the benefit of a small company with the opportunity to wear many hats with exposure and responsibility over a small but growing international presence – with a chance to make a difference. Follow-up preparation of monthly receivable analytics and the related variance analysis for delivery to the operational managers will be part of the monthly close process. Business process design with considerations for efficiency gains and solid accounting controls. Attention to detail, timelines, and a customer service attitude are skills required for this position. Consider: People Management: The candidate must be able to manage across boundaries, influence decision makers, work to gain acceptance as well as adhere to policies and controls. The successful candidate will have experience in small team management and will have 3 to 5 direct reports. Customer Relationship Management: The successful candidate must be able to partner with stakeholders in understanding of their financial statements, and the ability to add value through consulting and advising. The person must be attentive to the reporting needs of the business as well as innovative in presenting solutions and creative in metrics and operational updates. Accountability and Timeliness: The candidate must have a good internal sense of responsibility regarding task completion and understands internally the necessity of deadlines which may require considerable time and effort during the close period. Experience and Education: Degree in accounting or finance 5+ years in operational accounting (AR, Cash Apps, Cust Service), financial reporting, general ledger management Supervisory experience over an operational team Experience in insurance or brokerage strongly desired Knowledge of the monthly insurance bordereaux process helpful
