The Inventory Control / Purchasing position will perform a wide range of tasks. This individual will interact with customers, vendors, sales and warehouse to assure timely delivery of product both incoming and outgoing. Duties will include: •Supporting the production operation through planning, scheduling and expediting of products and raw material. •Interface with customers, sales representatives and warehouse on inventories delivery and orders. •Confirm delivery dates and communicate customer expedites to the sales team in a timely manner. •Print and distribute weekly reports and update charts for procurement and delivery issues, as needed. •Perform daily software production duties to fill orders: purchasing, receiving, system updates of pricing and scheduled receipt and shipments. •Maintain an inventory levels necessary to meet software delivery schedule dates. •Insuring accurate cost entry and maximizing available discounts and payment terms. •Requesting acknowledgements of purchase orders from vendors for system updates. •Communication with vendors and freight forwarders, obtaining freight cost and time estimates. •Tracing shipments to ensure timely delivery; Entry of and updating promised delivery dates. •Maintaining records and organized files for all purchasing-related matters. •Maintain up to date vendor interaction information in CRM. •Perform other administrative duties as needed. •Attend and actively participate in Staff Meeting. Qualifications •Two year degree in a related field; or at least 4 years of relatable buyer/planner experience in a fabrication and distribution environment •Associates Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred. •Strong customer focus •Excellent telephone handling skills. •Ability to formulate and deliver crisp communication that can be understood at all levels. •Self-motivated and driven •PC skills; Proficient in Microsoft Excel •Excellent organizational skills, strong planning and time management skills. •Driven attitude who reacts quickly and can multi task •Experience with basic bookkeeping and Accounts Payable practices •Professional appearance and workplace habits with an outgoing and personable manner
