EXPECTATIONS: Provide care and supervision of children to meet individual needs Design and implement a developmentally appropriate program of activities, curriculum and environment Aid children in their endeavors as needed (without providing too much help which inhibits the child's developmental process by eliminating the trial and error process) Keep the classroom clean, wash toys weekly (more for mouthed toys), and clean up after meals Notify director immediately if you are ill and cannot attend work, preferably the night before Maintain neat, clean and respectable appearance Comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Manual Make observations of children's development and behavior with the intent of informing parents of changes or concerns Act professionally at all times Attend parent meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions Arrive at work punctually Assure that equipment and materials are in good condition and safe for use Clean up after yourself in the kitchen, share in rotating center cleaning responsibilities Report any concerns to the appropriate director Demonstrate concern for and to the parents regarding the stresses of family life and having children in day care Work well with other care givers to fairly share all responsibilities Participate in CPR and first aid training Other duties as assigned SUPERVISION: CAREGIVERS report directly to the educational director for all administrative issues (understanding policies, requesting days off, etc.) Issues specifically dealing with classroom management or the children should be discussed with the educational or executive director. In the absence of one director the other director is responsible for all issues. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, Associate's degree in child care preferred. At least 1 year documented experience with children. Supply annual medical records as per the Department of Health including proof of immunizations and TB test. Be energetic, good natured and flexible to meet the needs of children. Agree to address child abuse registry investigation.
